Dublinbikes is one of the most successful bike rental schemes in the world, with more than 58,000 subscribers and 2.2m rentals.
Absolutely in love with the scheme, and i’m so glad at how successful its been, i just wish we could improve all public transport services, bring them all under the same brand, Luas, Rail, DART, Metro north (if it ever comes), Dublin Bus and Bikes should have the same livery and branding, we need to strive for a hop-on hop-off service for all public transport with a smart card (like Londons Oyster Card) that covers all of these different forms of transport. The city really needs to pedestrianise, or at least restrict traffic in the city centre to maybe just public transport and bikes etc. This city could be a great place for pedestrians and cyclists, it should be a great place for cyclists and pedestrians, its really quite a small city, it should be a breeze to get around it..
The amount of traffic in Dublin is appalling and ninety per cent of the cars I see have only one person in them. The potential for Dublin to be an actual place for cyclists and pedestrians is being wasted.
what if every time we listen to sigur rós a small light starts shining inside of us but we can’t see it and then Jónsi sometimes climbs on a big mountain and then just quietly smiles when he’s seeing all those lights shining.
((I just want to make a picture out of this, or a quote.))
