I don’t really have time to do a lengthy post or anything about Airwaves and Iceland but I have to say something really quickly.
It was amazing and fabulous and wonderful. Last year since it was stormy as hell I only saw the Golden Circle and was inside most of the time as was everyone else. So although I saw a whole lot of bands looking back I don’t think I really explored the city at all let alone Iceland.
This time though, I think I saw fewer bands (haven’t checked) but I went Snæfellsnes and some of the South (Vík etc.) and met some of the most wonderful people. I feel as though I know Reykjavík a lot better now, not as well as I’d like, but better. Always trying to be better. And the northern lights.
Now to catch up on all the work I was meant to be doing last week.
Let me be there already!
Watched Heima again and well… this, essentially.
October can’t come quick enough.
Sometimes I get so “homesick”…i just miss Reykjavik more than I can say..
I miss the sun at 2am. I miss the sea spray on Laugavegur. I miss the coffee. I miss the smell of sulfur and algae and salty water. I miss the morning mist and breeze. I miss the awesome nights at Iðnó and Laundromat and Kaffibarinn and The Big Lebowski and the collective of young designers.
I miss the best veg hamburger I’ve ever had. And I miss Mál og Menning.
I miss everything. Even the rocks.
I miss it so much I cry.
Getting that feeling lately… can’t go back quick enough.
So this is Þingvellir and a spot on the path to Gullfoss. Isn’t that neat?
Long Ass, Overdue, Post About Iceland
This is a fairly lengthy Iceland post about a month late. By fairly lengthy I mean very lengthy. So here you go:
Last chance to tell me if you want one.
FM Belfast - Happy Winter
Hey, hey listen
I need some guidance from anyone here who has already been to Iceland. Any help would be great.
I’m going, as you may already know, at the end of October to Iceland and I wanted to know where to go, what to see etc. That is, which of the many many things should have priority. I’m only really gonna be there for 5 days so I’d like to fit in as much as possible. Westfjords and some of the south coast have been in mind along with Þingvellir and the likes. Suggestions on how to get to these places and all that would also be great.
